Traders threaten stir

THRISSUR, AUG. 1. The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti (KVVES) has threatened to down the shutters of shops and business establishments owned by their members across the State on August 4 if the private bus strike is not settled by then.

This was announced by Samithi leaders after a State council meeting of the KVVES here today. The leaders clarified that they had not decided to launch a strike on Tuesday as reported. The meeting demanded that the Government defer the decision to impose excess levy in the headload sector.
