Southern Railway to run Sabari specials to Chennai

Computerised reservation centre opened at Pampa

Two pairs of trains between Chennai Central and Thiruvananthapuram Aim is to clear the extra rush of passengers

Thiruvananthapuram: Southern Railway will run two pairs of Sabari special trains between Chennai Central and Thiruvananthapuram Central between December 7 and January 24 to clear the extra rush of passengers.

The 0633 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Special will leave Chennai Central at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and arrive here at 7 a.m. the next day. The 0634 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central Special will leave Chennai Central at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesdays to reach Chennai Central at 4 a.m. the next day, a release from Southern Railway said.

The services from Chennai Central side will be on December 12, 19, 26, January 2, 9, 16 and 23. The services from Thiruvananthapuram Central will be on December 13, 20, 27, January 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Both 0633 and 0634 will stop at Varkala, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanacherry, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Arakkonam. The 0634 will stop at Perambur station also.

The 0635 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Special will leave Chennai Central at 4 p.m. on Thursdays to arrive at Thiruvananthapuram Central the next day at 7 a.m. The 0636 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 10.30 a.m. on Friday to arrive at Chennai Central at 4 a.m. the next day.

Southern Railway has opened a special computerised passenger reservation centre at Pampa for the benefit of pilgrims visiting Sabarimala. The centre will function from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
