School bus driver succumbs to injuries

The driver of a school bus, which had rammed into a shop near Mannanthala a week ago, succumbed to his injuries on Monday. With this, the death toll in the accident has gone up to two.

The deceased has been identified as Soman, 65, of Kudappanakunnu. He was being treated at the Government Medical College Hospital here since the accident on July 27.

Rammed tea shop

The incident had taken place when the bus belonging to Sarvodaya Higher Secondary School, which had been transporting 16 school students, rammed a tea shop, killing a bystander and injuring another at Keraladityapuram.

Sukumaran Nair, 53, of Mukkolakkal, who had been standing beside his scooter on the roadside, had died shortly after being admitted to a hospital.
