Reliance mobile goes 10-digit

KOCHI, OCT. 11. Reliance mobile subscribers in the State will migrate to a 10-digit number scheme beginning with 93. The changeover will take place from tomorrow. They will not have to prefix the STD codes any longer. However, all local calls to the landline numbers from the mobile will need STD code.

According to a Reliance release, the change of number has been done in keeping with the cellular mobile numbering plan under the new Unified Licence Regime.

In Ernakulam, the existing seven digit numbers starting with 31, 37 and 38 will have 93886 at the beginning. Those starting with 32 will have 93492. Those beginning with 33, 34 and 36 will have 93888, and 35 will have 93884.
