Register case, orders child rights panel

The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has directed that a case be registered on a complaint that a six-year-old girl in Aluva was forced to drink liquor. The girl’s parents had lodged a complaint with the Edathala police. However, they approached the commission after the police failed to investigate their complaint. The commission said the failure to investigate the case was a violation of the Cr.PC.
