The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pushpagiri Medical Society in Thiruvalla for developing artificial tissues for dental, orthopaedic and cosmetic applications, Mathew Mazhavancheril, Director, Academics and Research of the Pushpagiri Group of Institutions, has said.

Fr. Mazhavancheril, who is also the head of the Pushpagiri Research Centre, said here on Wednesday that the MoU would improve the medical and dental research activities in the field of tissue engineering.

The Pushpagiri Research Centre (PRC) is a recognised centre affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). The MoU was signed by C.N. Ravishankar, CIFT Director, and Fr. Mazhavancheril.
