Prohibitionists flay liquor policy

THRISSUR, MARCH 17. The president of the Kerala Prohibition Council, K. K. Rahulan, has alleged that the new liquor policy of the UDF Government will lead to the proliferation of beer parlours in the State.

In a statement issued here today Dr. Rahulan warned that the policy will lead to the conversion of all hotels in the State into liquor shops and this in turn will lead to rise in liquor consumption habits of the people.

He said the policy has several anti-prohibition proposals such as giving sanction to three-star hotels to supply beer,.
