Pre-counselling to be held today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The third and the last in the series of pre-counselling guidance programmes for professional courses of The Hindu EducationPlus will be held at the AKG Memorial Hall here on Sunday.

The programme is being organised in association with State Bank of Travancore (SBT).

The programme, to be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will consist of a general session during which experts on medicine, engineering and agriculture and allied subjects will make presentations on the scope of the various courses in these areas and a question-answer session during which the students and their parents will be able to interact with the experts and have their doubts cleared.

A large number of students who have qualified in the entrance examination for admission to professional courses have already registered for the programme.

On-the-spot registration will be allowed on a limited scale and it will get under way at 8 a.m.

C.K. Viswanathan, Commissioner, and Rajoo Krishnan, Joint Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, are among those who will make presentations at the programme.

Jyothydev Kesavadev will make the presentation on medical courses; Ajay Antony of TIME on engineering courses; B. Sudhir on architecture; and R. Hali on agriculture and allied courses.

The SBT will make a presentation on the loans offered by the bank for pursuing professional education.

An attractive handbook containing information about the counselling programme, statistics of the last two years and articles on the scope of various courses will be distributed to the participants at the venue.
