NRI families urged to highlight problems

KOZHIKODE: A joint meeting of Pravasi organisations held here has decided to adopt a specific policy during the elections in view of the particular problems faced by non-resident Keralites.

Pravasi India Forum State president Suresh Periyattil presided. Chairman, Indo-Arab Confederation, Attakoya Pallikkandi inaugurated the meeting.

The meeting called upon Pravasi families to make use of the election as an opportunity to highlight their problems.

The issues regarding pension, insurance, loan facilities, employment opportunities, land and housing, family security, among others, which has been plaguing non-resident Keralites would be highlighted during election time.

The meeting also noted the delay being experienced in not providing voting rights to Pravasis, and in setting up an immigration office for Pravasis in Kozhikode.
