Natpac to hold feasibility study

The National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (Natpac) will conduct a feasibility study on improving the road network in Kollam city under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. The City Corporation Council will discuss the projects on Tuesday. An elevated corridor over the SMP Palace railway level crossing and another from Polayathodu to Anandawalleshwaram would be the prime projects.

Other projects under consideration included a flyover or underpass at the Kadappakada junction, an underpass from the District Hospital junction to the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) depot, and development of the road from Thanni to Kallupalam, along the Kollam canal.

Proper drainage systems would be in place. Parking towers would be constructed at Andamukham and by the side of the Asramam Link road. District authorities and civic body representatives had hel discussions with Natpac scientist G. Ravikumar and Principal Technical Officer K.M. Sayyed Mohammed.
