Nabard sanctions Rs. 52.4 crores

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 6. The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs. 52.41 crores from its `Rural Infrastructure Development Fund X' to the State Government, an official press release said today.

The amount is for 44 road projects of various block panchayats, six road projects and 11 bridge projects of the Public Works Department and a drainage and flood protection scheme in a paddy polder called Pranthan Puthenkari Padasekharam in Kottayam district.

Road projects

Of the road projects of block panchayats, one each is in Chengannur and Kanjikkuzhi in Alappuzha district, Angamaly and Kovappadi in Ernakulam district, Adimaly, Idukki and Thodupuzha in Idukki district, Irinjalakuda, Pazhayannur and Wadakkancherry in Thrissur district, Areacode, Malappuram and Vengara in Malappuram district and Kanhangad and Neeleswaram in Kasaragoe district.

Kannur and Kollam districts have nine road projects each. In Kannur district, one is in Edakkad, two each are in Irukkur and Payyannur and four are in Talipparambu. In Kollam district, one is in Pathanapuram, two are in Sasthamkottah and six are in Chadayamangalam.

Three road projects would be implemented with this fund in Mannarghat block panchayat in Palakkad district. Mallappally and Ranni block panchayats in Pathanamthitta district will get assistance for one road project and four road projects respectively.

The press release said Nabard had so far sanctioned Rs. 191 crores from its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund to Kerala so far during the year.
