Measures to streamline traffic in Kollam

KOLLAM, AUG. 21. A meeting of the District Traffic Regulatory Committee today took steps to streamline the traffic system in the city. The meeting, chaired by the District Collector, B. Sreenivas, constituted a six-member sub-committee to suggest recommendations by inviting proposals from the public and after studying the shortcomings of the system in force.

The members of the sub-committee are the Joint RTO, Suresh Babu, as convener, the PWD (Roads) Executive Engineer, the Kollam Dy. SP, the former Municipal Chairman, K. Thankappan, and Rajendra Prasad. The Committee will meet on August 24 at the Kollam SP office. Suggestions from individuals and organisations should reach the convener of the committee at the RTO Office functioning at the Civil Station complex by September 10.
