Math to launch cleaning drive at Sabarimala

1,200 from Mata Amritanandamayi Math to take part

For the seventh consecutive year, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math will conduct a two-day pre-festival

intensive cleaning drive at Sabarimala and Pampa on November 11 and 12.

Talking to The Hindu , Brahmachari Sudeep, director, Amritapuri campus, has said the drive would be part of the Amala Bharathom project launched by Mata Amritanandamayi.

Some 1,200 volunteers would be deployed at Sabarimala and Pampa for the drive.

Swami Gurudas Chaitanya, Amala Bharathom coordinator, would launch the drive at Sabarimala on November 11 morning. Tapasyamrita Chaitanya, Raju, and Sreevalsan, will lead the programme.

Disciples of Mata Amritanandamayi, including foreigners, staff and students from various educational institutions of the Math would be participating in the cleaning drive.

Travancore Devaswom Board president Prayar Gopalakrishnan has said the board would provide food and accommodation to the volunteers at Sabarimala and Pampa.
