Minister A.K. Balan to inaugurate

The industrial training institute (ITI) at Mariyapuram, Neyyattinkara, is being raised to international standards.

A new three-storey building, mechanical motor vehicle garage, and furniture-production unit have come up at the ITI. Modern classrooms too have been set up.

The ITI, the first in the State in terms of academic standards and infrastructure, has 100 students learning surveyor, mechanical motor vehicle, and carpenter trades. It has a three-storey hostel with facilities to accommodate 60 students. Food is also provided.

The new furniture unit will help furniture made here find a new market, Principal K.C. Suku said. Tata Motors are the industrial partners for the mechanical motor vehicle trade. All students are trained in driving here.

The new building will be inaugurated by Minister for Culture A.K. Balan on Saturday.
