‘Nuke deal, a U.S. conspiracy’

Staff Reporter

KOLLAM: State secretary of the RSP T.J. Chandrachoodan said on Saturday that if the United Progressive Alliance government decided to go ahead with the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal without discussing it in Parliament, a mid-term election would become inevitable. Inaugurating a meeting of the Janadipathya Aikya Mahila Association here, Prof. Chandrachoodan said that the deal was a conspiracy by the U.S. to block India’s development.

He said that in the Ponmudi land deal Forest Minister Benoy Viswom had committed a faux pas. The Minister appears to have been misguided by a section of the bureaucrats. Hence an inquiry into the deal was needed. Association president Rajalakshmi presided. A.A. Aziz, MLA, spoke.
