‘CPI(M) bid to politicise Lavalin issue’

Kochi: P.C. George, MLA and Kerala Congress (Secular) leader, on Saturday, urged the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) to desist from giving a political colour to the SNC Lavalin case.

At a press conference, he said Pinarayi Vijayan, CPI(M) State secretary, violated the oath of office he had taken when becoming a Minister by becoming part of the ‘conspiracy’ in the case. He said though government sanction was not needed for prosecuting the accused, a transparent government should accede to the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation. He alleged that those who raised their voice against the LDF government’s inefficiency we re being proceeded against.
