Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and Bournemouth University in the UK will join hands to launch academic and research exchange programmes in relevant areas.
Adrian Pinder, Director of Centre for Ecology of Bournemouth University, held discussions with KUFOS vice chancellor B. Madhusoodana Kurup here on Thursday. The meeting decided to initiate joint research projects and twinning academic programmes. Environment impact assessment and biotelemetry are the two major areas for collaborative research. KUFOS will start postgraduate diploma programmes in these areas. Students will be given an opportunity to study the first months at KUFOS and the remaining six months at the UK university, said an official communication.
