KSRTC buses damaged in stone-throwing

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 9 . The windscreens of four KSRTC buses were damaged in stone-throwing when a protest march turned violent at Perumbazhathoor in the Neyyatinkara police station limits on Monday afternoon. The police said more than 300 persons had staged a march demanding that Perumbazhathoor be declared a grama panchayat. The stone-throwing occurred at around 12.10 p.m. Following the attack on buses, the KSRTC halted regular service along the Kaliakavila-Nagercoil route for several hours in the afternoon.

The police have registered a case of rioting and unlawful assembly against the office-bearers of the Perumbazhathoor action council in the wake of the incident.
