Inviting Italian investments

KOCHI: Industrialists as spokesmen for improved labour relations and a climate conducive to investments in Kerala are an indication of the shape of things to come as the State surges to keep its tryst with economic destiny.

Speaking to the visiting Italian Ambassador to India Antonio Armellini here on Tuesday evening, industrialists under the aegis of the Kerala Council of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) allayed fears over the investment climate in the State. The industrialists made out a strong case for the positive changes in the industrial relations scene in Kerala over the years.

FICCI Kerala State Council Chairman M.G. George Muthoot said that Italy could help Kerala develop world-class infrastructure and attract investments in food processing as it had substantial strength and expertise in the area.

The Ambassador said Kerala was a favoured destination for Italian tourists. He said the seashores and Ayurveda provided avenues for working together.
