Government support for tourism

Thiruvananthapuram: The Minister for Tourism, K.C. Venugopal, has promised stakeholders all support of the State Government for the further development of a vibrant tourism industry in the State.

The assurance was given by Mr. Venugopal at a meeting of stakeholders of the tourism industry at his chamber on Friday to discuss tourism-related issues.

He discussed in detail with industry representatives the problems faced by the tourism industry, and promised strengthening of the partnership between public and private sectors.

The stakeholders raised issues faced by them, and extended all support for the smooth growth of the industry.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), Pandalam Sudhakaran; the Principal Secretary, Tourism, E.K. Bharat Bhushan; the Managing Director of KTDC, M. N. Gunavardhanan; the Secretary, Transport, Sheela Thomas; the Transport Commissioner, P. Chandrashekar; the chairman of the Kerala Chapter of IATO, E.M. Najeeb, and officials of Kerala Tourism.
