Girl killed in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 11-year-old girl, Keerthy Henry, was killed when the scooter on which she was riding pillion was hit by a tipper-lorry near PMG Junction at about 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keerthy was first rushed to a private hospital in the city, but was brought later to Medical College hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. A resident of Paananvila, Nalanchira, Keerthy was the daughter of Joseph Henry, an officer with the Catholic Syrian Bank, Pune. Her mother, Sophy, who was riding the scooter and her younger brother were also injured in the accident and are under treatment in a private hospital.

Injured in accident

Two persons were injured when the motorbike they were travelling collided with a car at Thulavila near Pappanamcode on Thursday evening.

The injured persons were identified as Vinod, 25, and Sivakumar, 35. They have been admitted to Medical College Hospital.

Body found

The body of a 53-year-old woman was fished out from a well in the compound of her house at Pulimathu in Kilimanoor police station limits on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Rajamma. The police suspect the woman to have committed suicide. She is survived by her daughter and husband. The body has been kept at Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
