FRAT plea for compensation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 21. The Federation of Residents Associations, Thiruvananthapuram (FRAT), today demanded that the City Corporation compensate the citizens bitten by stray dogs.

In a press note here today, the FRAT general secretary, Punchakary Ravi, said that the Corporation authorities had flouted the assurances given to the Ombudsman for Local Self-Government Institutions, on the steps taken for controlling the stray dog menace in the city. He pointed out that packs of dogs were roaming the city, spreading terror among residents.
