Existing question papers for old scheme SSLC examinations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM. MARCH 24. All remaining old scheme SSLC examinations except the geography paper would be conducted with the existing question paper, a pressnote issued by the examination secretary, here today said.

Therefore, the District Education Officer (DEO) concerned should make sure that the services of a night watchman and policemen are made available at all examination centres. The iron safe containing the question paper packets should be sealed, jointly by the chief superintendents and the additional chief superintendents along with the date and the safe should not be opened till the next set of question papers arrive.

The assistant superintendents and deputy superintendents now posted at the centres should be relieved immediately and recalled when the next examination begins. If there are any retirements in between the DEO concerned should make a fresh posting, the pressnote said.

The new scheme 4 and old scheme 20 examinations which could not be held in schools in Kannur and Thalassery districts due to hartal would be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on March 30. The DEOs should make necessary arrangements for this.

Students who could not write the IT practical examination held from February 17 to 28 due to illness or other valid reasons would be given another chance to write these examinations on March 30. This examination would be held from 10 a.m. The DEOs should take necessary steps to enable such students to write this examination as per the Pareeksha Bhavan circular o March 19. Students who have applied for this examination should report at the examination centre at 9.30 a.m. itself on March 30. Further details regarding this examination can be had from the respective District Education Offices.

The DEOs should also personally inspect the old scheme question papers at the examination centres before March 31 in the presence of the chief superintendents and the deputy chief superintendents and make sure that the packets have not been tampered with in any way. They should record their observations on the school register and report the same to the Pareeksha Bhavan.

The DEOs should instruct officials at each centre to transfer the unused new scheme question paper packets to an iron safe when the new question papers for the examinations on April 15, 18 and 19 arrive at the centres. The DEOs should also convene a special meeting of all chief superintendents and explain to them all the matters stated above and should send a report about the meeting to the Pareeksha Bhavan, the pressnote added.
