KOCHI: The consortium of self-financing medical colleges in the State held an entrance test for admission to the management quota in these colleges here on Saturday amidst protests by Students Federation of India (SFI) activists.

The protest was peaceful. Several policemen were posted in front of Sacred Heart College, Thevara, where the test was held for about 300 seats in the management quota in six self-financing medical colleges in the State.

Shortly after the test began at 9.30 a.m., SFI activists took out a march to the venue.

The police blocked the march way ahead of the test venue. Senior police officials held discussions with student leaders. SFI activists told the police officials that they were holding a peaceful protest against the management decision to hold an entrance test for admission to seats under the management quota.

Later, a dharna was held near the test venue.
