Endosulfan victims will launch an indefinite fast in front of the Secretariat on June 23 to protest against the government’s failure to keep the promises given to them. Endosulfan Victims Front president T. Sobhana and secretary Amabalathara Krishnan said on Wednesday that the government had not kept its word to provide financial assistance to all victims regardless of geographical borders. Although 5,000 persons from 27 panchayats had been identified as having been affected by endosulfan, only those belonging to 15 panchayats had been given assistance, they said. — Special Correspondent
