Documentary on a filmmaker

Thiruvananthapuram: Every creative work owes its success to originality. But expression of this unique quality demands a certain level of ingenuity. That is what Jayadeep Kothamangalam has achieved through his animation documentary on the filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Titled `Viraladayaalam' (Fingerprint) and produced under the banner of Bijay Productions, the film tries to unravel the childhood experiences and memories that have inspired Adoor's works.

It uses moving pictures to convey the message in a novel method of expression.

Film director K.G. George released the documentary at a function held at the Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, the producer, Biju Suramya, termed it as a tribute to the talents of this year's Dada Saheb Phalke award winner.

The former deputy director of Doordarshan K. Kunhikrishnan laid stress on the need to foster new trends in the film world and encourage debutants to the field.
