Court stays rights panel order

KOCHI, NOV. 29 . The Kerala High Court has stayed the order of the State Human Rights Commission directing the Railways to construct a foot overbridge at the Kanhangad railway station in three months and stop all the trains on Platform no.1.

The stay came on a writ petition filed by the Palakkad Divisional Manager, S.K. Sarma, challenging the Human Rights Commission's order. The Commission had passed the order on the basis of newspaper reports. According to the reports, the absence of a bridge at the station had been causing inconvenience to passengers.
