KOCHI: Around 2100 students from 40 schools from across the State have arrived in Kochi to participate in the two-day youth festival being organised here by the CBSE Schools Managements' Association.

The festival will be inaugurated on Friday by Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy at the Toc-H Public School, Vytilla. Cine star Dileep will be present on the occasion.

The convener of the programme committee, Wg. Cdr. B. Abraham, who is also the Principal of the host school, said that 130 events would be held under five categories at 16 venues in the school.

"Shamianas have been raised in different places. The school's football stadium has been converted into a huge mess hall. The help of traffic policemen has been sought to regulate traffic. Both literary and cultural events will be held separately for boys and girls, covering different age categories. While boys coming from other districts will be accommodated in the Al Ameen School, girls will be put up at the Nava Nirman Public School," he said.

Cochin University Vice-Chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis will be the chief guest at the valedictory session. Trophies will be given to winners of both individual and group events.
