Cruise ship to call at Kochi port todayKOCHI: MV Seven Seas Voyager, a cruise ship carrying 722 passengers and 442 crew members, will arrive here on Sunday. It arrives from Yangon and will sail for Goa in the evening. It is on a 16-day voyage from Singapore to Dubai. A press release issued by the Cochin Port Trust says that this will be the 21st vessel to call at Kochi since April 2005. - Staff Reporter

Anglo-Indian forum education scholarshipsKOCHI: The Anglo-Indian Education Fund scholarships were distributed to 220 students from different parts of the State at a function held here on Saturday evening. Gold medals were given to top scorers in the SSLC examination. The function was inaugurated by Minorities' Welfare Minister Dominic Presentation. KOCHI: The observance of Brain Awareness Week, organised by the Department of Biotechnology, Cusat, concluded on Saturday. M.V. Pylee, former Vice-Chancellor of Cusat, was the chief guest at the function. Vice-Chancellor P.K. Abdul Aziz presided. Citizens' concerns

KOCHI: The Cochin Citizens' Forum has expressed concern at cables of telecom companies dangerously protruding out on different roads in the city. In a press release issued here, Forum president Mathew Joseph Moozhayil said that often, prior sanction is not taken before carrying out the work. The pipes are left open in many areas and they are laid very close to electric cables, posing danger to pedestrians. The cables also eat into a good portion of the pavement and the road, he said. - Staff Reporter
