Music festival

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JULY 24. The 104th Samadhi aradhana festival of saint composer, Neelakanta Sivan, would be organised by the Neelakanta Sivan Sangeetha Sabha at the Sathyavageeswara japa Dhyana Mandapam from August 7 to 12. The festival would be inaugurated by Gouri Parvathi Bayi of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore. It would be followed by a music concert by Nagamoni Sreenath.


The Kerala Muslim Jamath Federation would be holding a Secretariat march on July 29 demanding the implementation of the recommendations of the Narendran Commission.


The Trivandrum Beach City Round Table 126 has adopted the Gynaecology ward (Ward 16) of the SAT Hospital as part of its Community service activities. The Round Table would be taking steps for providing better facilities for the patients in the ward by donating beds for patients and bystanders as well as by constructing bathrooms in the ward. The National vice-president of the Round Table India, Ravi Khanna, inaugurated the programme.

Gita yagna

A nine-day Bhagavad Gita Gnana yagna in Malayalam by Nochur Venkitaraman would be held at the Madhavan Thampi Hall at Kesavadasapuram from 6-30 p.m. to 8-30 p.m. from August 2 to 10. Special religious discourse would also be held from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Seetharama Anjaneya Veda Kendra at Padmavilasam road from August 3 to 10.

Youth festival

The CBSE Youth Festival organised by the Travancore Sahodaya complex would be held at the Mother India International Residential Public School at Keezhattingal near Attingal on July 29, 30 and 31 respectively.


A Continuing Education Programme on Preventive Nephrology is being organised at the Muthoot Plaza hotel auditorium on July 25 by the Cosmopolitan Hospital Nephrology department. Discussions and paper presentations on kidney ailments, role of the physician in the identification of diseases, use of drugs for this ailment as well as meeting with experts from the field would be organised as part of the CME.
