Admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya

Thiruvananthapuram: Application forms for admission to Class 1 of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom will be issued from January 2 to March 20, on all working days from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Application forms for Class 2 to 9 will also be available at the school office till April 5 but admissions will be subject to vacancy. Details will be put up on the school notice board, according to a press note issued by the school. — Staff Reporter

House burgled

Thiruvananthapuram: Burglars broke into a house at Punnapuram in the Vanchiyoor police station limits in broad daylight today and decamped with Rs.13,000 in cash and 11 sovereigns of gold. Police said the incident took place around 1 p.m. when the house owner, Radhakrishnan, and his family had gone out. They said the burglars had broken down the back door to enter the building. Thiruvananthapuram: The historic Vattiyoorkavu conference of the Congress had catalysed the struggle for responsible Government, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has said. Inaugurating the commemorative meeting organised by the Vattiyoorkavu Conference Commemoration Committee here on Thursday, Mr.Chennithala said that the younger generation should take pains to learn the struggles and sacrifice of the freedom fighters and emulate them in life.

Voters list

Thiruvananthapuram: Voters in the Kazhakuttam and Thiruvananthapuram North, West and East Assembly constituencies have been given time up to December 26 to apply for inclusion in the voters' list affixed with photograph. Applicants should complete 18 years on January 1. Applications for corrections and new addresses will also be accepted. Applications will be received at taluk and village offices. Applicants invited for hearing will have to produce school certificate to prove date of birth and ration card or residential certificate to prove address. — Staff Reporter
