Power disruption

KOCHI: Electricity supply to areas around Foreshore Road, Boat Jetty, Old Thevara Road, Colombo Junction, Chittoor Road and between the Cochin Shipyard and Shenoy's would be partially disrupted between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday on account of the repair works being undertaken on the supply lines. — Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The district committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will organise a peoples' meet on the Smart City project at the Ernakulam Town Hall at 4 p.m. on Monday. SAY centre at Lakshadweep

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government has sanctioned, for the first time, a centre at Lakshadweep for the SSLC SAY examinations, a press note issued here on Saturday said. This has been done following a request from Union Minister for Power P.M. Sayeed to Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer, the press note added. — Staff Reporter

Ten arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: Ten Health Department staff members were arrested by the city police on the charge of illegally detaining the District Medical Officer. The staff were protesting against the transfer of a colleague. The accused were given bail from the Vanchiyoor police station. — Staff Reporter

Petition filed

Thiruvananthapuram: A civil miscellaneous petition has been filed in the Sub-Court here seeking that the Congress organisational elections be declared null and void. The petition was moved by R. Jayachandran on the ground that organisational election process was violative of the party constitution.

Woman killed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman was run over by a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus at Kazhakkuttom on Saturday evening. According to Medical College Hospital sources, Lalitha, 53, resident of Karyavattom, was knocked down and run over by the bus. A case has been registered.
