Cruise ship arrives

KOCHI, MARCH 11. Oriana, a cruise ship carrying 1,670 passengers and 820 crew members, called at Kochi this morning. It is the biggest vessel to berth at Kochi in recent times. The 230-metre-long, 12-deck vessel belonging to P and O Cruises, arrived here from Colombo, on its second visit to the port city. It was berthed at the Ernakulam Wharf. The passengers visited various tourist spots in Kochi. In the evening, the cruise ship left for Mumbai.

Dak Adalat

The Divisional Level Dak Adalat of Ernakulam postal division will be held at 10.30 a.m. on March 21 at the Office of the Superintendent of Post Offices, Ernakulam Division.

Two killed

Two persons were killed in separate road accidents today. Kanwar Singh Rawat, an employee of a restaurant near Palarivatton, was killed when a truck ran over him in front of the Ernakulam Medical Centre. The driver of the truck fled the scene after the accident. In another accident, Venukrishna, a postgraduate student of Cochin University of Science and Technology was killed after a tanker lorry knocked him down near St. Paul's College.
