An ability to motivate one and all

It is unusual to find a 24-year-old who is not the least disillusioned about life in general and what lies ahead for people.

Suhani Shah seems to have fast-tracked her way to a more enlightened state as an author, corporate trainer, and clinical hypnotherapist, among the many titles she ascribes to.

She has achieved an understanding of the human mind that belies her age. She is here in the city after a gap of nearly three years since she last came to hold free interactive sessions for people.

Ms. Shah’s first two-hour session was on Saturday and the three-day programme will conclude on Monday. Over the course of next week, she will be taking motivational classes for members of the Trivandrum Club and also hold a class on child psychology and communication for teachers of the Saraswathi Vidyalaya School.

Speaking to The Hindu , the young speaker said that she owes her current state of mind to her upbringing that was not confined behind the four walls of a school classroom. She spent much of her childhood ‘living out of a suitcase’ for she began her career as a magician when she was only 7-years-old. As a child, she was taken aback by the profound impact her shows had on people. They confided in her and she was able to hone her perceptions of things through the experiences she had growing up.

“As a child you do not know what to think. You see things as they are and not as they should be. I was able to understand things from different points of view,” said Ms. Shah.

She stresses that she does no aspire to be a guru of any sort but only to empower people and make them understand that ‘their master is within themselves.’

Her talks in the capital were attended by over 350 people each day.
