Alappuzha town to get facelift

The multicrore project aimed at transforming the face of Alappuzha town will be completed in three years, Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said while inaugurating the refurbishment of the Kaithana-Kallupalam-Kaichoondi-Kommady-Thumboli road here on Friday.

“The Rs 276-crore project for the renovation of the Alappuzha town will be implemented in three years. We have already started the initial process.

The project will lead to the overall development of Alappuzha,” Dr. Isaac said.

Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran said that tenders had been awarded for the renovation of 21 roads in Alappuzha municipality, according to a pressnote issued here.

Municipal chairman Thomas Joseph and Matsyafed chairman P.P. Chitharanjan were present at the function.
