Ahamed impressed by RGCB facilities

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: "Your institute is quite impressive," was the reaction of Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed, when he visited the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), here on Friday.

Mr. Ahamed, whose visit was brief and informal, met the scientists of the RGCB.

Mr. Ahamed said he felt quite happy that Kerala had set up such an impressive centre for exclusive research in biotechnology. He hoped that the institute would be able to make great headway in biotechnology research and emerge as a leading institution in the country. A.E. Muthunayagam, Executive Vice-President of the Kerala State Council for Science and Technology; M. Radhakrishna Pillai, Director, RGCB; M. Krishnan, Director, Science and Technology, received Mr. Ahamed.
