Agreement for grid-linked solar power project

The first grid-linked 50 MW solar power project will be set up at West Kallada panchayat in Kollam district.

The Kerala State Electricity Board will procure the power generated from this project according to a tariff fixed by the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission. A company to be constituted for the project will procure land on lease. The company will comprise the landowner as well as the grama panchayat. The board will act as a facilitator for setting up the company. The board will enter into a pact with the proposed company for handing over the land. The board will pay the rent for the land taken on lease.

The board and National Hydro Power Corporation Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding here on Wednesday for setting up the project here on Wednesday. Board corporate planning chief engineer K. Valsala Kumari and NHPC executive director Kanwar Singh signed the MoU in the presence of Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed, board chairman M. Sivasankaran and other officials.
