UDF reiterates demand for judicial inquiry

Thrissur: The United Democratic Front (UDF) reiterated on Saturday its demand for an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation or a judicial inquiry into the Merchiston Estate deal.

P.P. Thankachan, convener of the front, told presspersons that the Opposition would not be satisfied with an official-level or Vigilance inquiry.

A CBI or judicial inquiry was necessary to bring out the involvement of the Go vernment in facilitating the sale of the land by its owner.

The UDF would go ahead with its agitation demanding the resignation of Forests Minister Benoy Viswom in co nnection with the deal. — PTI
