Two DYFI workers hurt in attacks

PATHANAMTHITTA: Two local leaders of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) were injured, allegedly in two separate attacks by RSS activists in Adoor town on Friday night and Saturday.

According to the police, the seriously injured Maheshkumar, 28, has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and Prashanth Planthottom, 30, has been admitted to the Community Health Centre at Adoor.

The incidents were said to be sequel to the alleged attacks on two RSS workers by DYFI activists at Peringanad near Adoor three days ago. The Adoor police have arrested two RSS workers, Rajesh and Pramod, in connection with the incidents. The RSS workers staged a march in the town later in the afternoon, protesting against the arrest of the RSS workers.
