Trains diversion on January 31

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several trains between Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram have been diverted via Alappuzha on January 31 for urgent works on the Ernakulam-Thripunithura and Chengannur-Mavelikara sections where the rail lines are being doubled, the Railways said.

The services towards Thiruvananthapuram which will be diverted are: train no. 2626 New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express; 6526 Bangalore-Kanyakumari Express; 6350 Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Parasuram Express; 7230 Hyderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express; 2660 Shalimar-Thiruvananthapruam Gurudev Weekly Express; and 6327 Korba-Thiruvananthapuram Biweekly Express.

The diverted services towards the Ernakulam side will be: train no. 2625 Thiruvananthapuram-New Delhi Kerala Express and 6382 Kanyakumari-Mumbai CST Express. On the diverted route, the trains will stop at Haripad, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha and Cherthala. These trains will not touch Piravom Road, Ettumanur, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur and Mavelikara which come on their regular route. The Railways have requested passengers to bear with the inconvenience. Train no. 6312 Thiruvananthapuram-Bikaner Express will start from Kochuveli instead of the Thiruvananthapuram from March 7.
