Traffic regulation in place

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vehicular traffic will be regulated in the city from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. during the Onam week celebrations organised by the Department of Tourism.

A statement by the traffic police on Tuesday said vehicles coming from the Sreekaryam side on National Highway 47 should proceed via Kumarapuram, Nalumukku, Pattoor, General Hospital, Asan Square and Underpass, while vehicles from Main Central Road to East Fort should take a deviation from Paruthipara and proceed via Vayalikkada and Ambalamukku. Vehicles moving from East Fort to Peroorkada, Vattiyoorkkavu, Thirumala and Poojappura should go via Overbridge, Thampanoor and Vazhuthacaud.

Vehicles originating from Peroorkada and moving towards East Fort and Thampanoor should go via Vellayambalam and Vazhuthacaud. Visitors to the city are requested to park their vehicles along one side of the Museum-Nandavanam road, Manaveeyam Road, Kanaka Nagar Road, P.M.G. junction-Barton Hill road, Poojappura- Karamana road, Poojappura- Mudavanmugal road, Sasthamangalam- Vellayambalam road, Press Club Road, Manmohan Bungalow- Kowdiar road, Asan Square, AKG Centre road and also at designated parking lots, such as Sanskrit College ground, behind Saphalyam Complex and the LBS college ground, Poojappura.
