‘Thaadi’ adjudged best telefilm
KOCHI: ‘Thaadi,’ directed by M.R. Anoop Raj, has been selected the best telefilm in the Jeevan-Atlas telefilm fete.
‘MTyude Kumaranallorile Kulangal,’ directed by M.A. Rahman, was adjudged the best documentary.
Arun and Geetha Vijayan were named the best actors.
The prize money for the best telefilm and documentary is Rs.1 lakh and Rs.50,000 respectively.
The award jury comprised director Fazil, scriptwriter Sreemoolanagaram Vijayan and director Vijayakumar.
SMS votes
The SMS votes of viewers were also taken into account.
The awards were announced here on Saturday by Jeevan TV managing director Baby Mathew Somatheeram and jury chairman Fazil.
‘Vadhu,’ directed by P. Salaam, was adjudged the second best telefilm. ‘Room No.3’ won the third prize in the telefilm category.
The award for the second best documentary goes to ‘Few Minutes Before Death,’ directed by Haari.
‘Mullaperiyar’ won the third prize in the documentary section.
Contestants
Fifty-three telefilms and 25 documentaries were received for the telefilm fete.
The awards will be given away at a function at the Ernakulam Ambedkar Stadium on August 19.
Actor Suresh Gopi will be the chief guest. Well-known artistes will participate in the programme.
