Siruvani dam full

Coimbatore: Water in the Siruvani dam, the major source for drinking water to people in this city, reached its full level of 878.5 metres on Saturday afternoon, official sources said. The dam was up to its brim, following heavy rain in the catchment areas for the last 15 days. Major water bodies and tanks in and around the city had started overflowing, the sources said, adding that the district administration had asked those living on the banks and on encroached areas to move to safer places. — PTI
