Children-friendly classrooms to welcome Class I students on their first day in school

Sweets, cultural procession, painting-filled classrooms await children



PALAKKAD: The Education Department has made elaborate arrangements for the State-level school opening festival and free distribution of books that will be inaugurated by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan at Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Malampuzha, near here, on Monday.

To make their first day in school a memorable one for Class I students, children-friendly classrooms have been arranged in each school.

Various drawings and paintings linked to the slogan ‘Knowledge, Entertainment and Curiosity’ are on display in the classrooms.

PTA work

Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) were also working to make it a great festival, officials of the Education Department here said.

They said that the students would be welcomed to the classes with sweets.

There would also be cultural processions showcasing art forms.

The government schools are preparing to make the festival more colourful than the ones organised in private schools.

Badges

The Public Relations Department has brought out a badge for the participants in the procession with the slogan ‘Clean School, Beautiful School.’

Education Minister M.A. Baby will preside over the function at the Malampuzha school.

SSA classrooms

The classrooms constructed under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) will be inaugurated by Electricity Minister A.K. Balan.

The ‘Harishree Vartha Pathrika’ will be released by district panchayat president Subida Isahaq.

The meeting will be addressed by N.N. Krishnadas, MP, district panchayat president Subida Isahaq, Director of Public Instructions (DPI) Mohammed Haneesh, among others.
