SSLC exams from Monday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This year's SSLC, Higher Secondary (Plus One and Plus Two) and Vocational Higher Secondary (VHS) examinations will begin on March 15 and end on March 27.

The results of the SSLC examinations will be out during the first week of May while those of the Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary examinations will be published by the second week of May.

This was stated at a press conference here on Friday by Director of Public Instruction A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish. Higher Secondary Director C.P. Chithra and Vocational Higher Secondary Director Mohan Abraham were also present.

4,50,167 to take exams

While 4,50,167 candidates are slated to write the SSLC examinations in the ‘regular' category, as many as 1,351 candidates are expected to appear for these examinations as private candidates.

About 25,000 candidates are expected to write the VHS examinations. While 3,83,768 candidates are expected to appear for the Plus One examinations, 3,61,117 candidates are slated to write the Plus Two examinations.

Examinations for the Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary courses will begin at 10 a.m. and the SSLC examinations at 2 p.m. Candidates have to enter the examination hall at 1.30 p.m.

Seven squads will carry out anti-malpractice inspections during these examinations. The evaluation of the answer sheets will begin on April 5. There will be 2,729 examination centres for the SSLC examinations, including 11 in the Gulf countries and nine in the Lakshadweep islands.
