Rise in forest revenue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Forest Department has achieved record revenue during the last financial year. An official release said the department obtained revenue of Rs.231.43 crore against the target of Rs.191.23 crore for the year. The release said most of the revenue had come from sale of timber. Introduction of retail sales through all timber depots of the department, revision of tender norms to ensure transparency and time-bound implementation of working plans had helped to mop up the revenues.
