Probe accidents at power project sites: KPCC

Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala has demanded that a Central agency be deputed to investigate the frequent accidents at the Panniyar and Moozhiyar power projects.

Inaugurating the delegates’ conference of the District Congress Committee (DCC) meet here on Wednesday, he expressed doubts whether the government was deliberately trying to turn the State into a power-deficit State. Efforts were on to split the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) into five companies and privatise it, he said.

He alleged that there was conspiracy by the CPI(M) top leadership to destroy the CPI. Mr. Chennithala said funds were not allotted to the CPI-controlled departments.

The government has not been able to implement the food security programme even after holding Cabinet and LDF meetings four times.
