Postgraduate programmes from NUALS

KOCHI: National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) here will offer Postgraduate Degree and Diploma courses from the academic year 2009-10.

The executive council of the university that met on May 15 accepted the proposal for starting two-year LL. M. programmes in International Trade Law and Constitutional and Administrative Law and postgraduate diploma in Medical Law and Ethics, said a release issued by the Registrar of the university.

The intake for the LL.M. programmes will be six seats each.

The university will admit 50 students for the diploma programme. Admission to the courses will be based on marks in the qualifying examination and the entrance test to be conducted by the university.

The performance in the interview will also be taken in to account before publishing the final merit list.

The postgraduate diploma course will be offered under the continuing education programme of the university for doctors, hospital administrators, nurses, lawyers, judges, law teachers, researchers, and other stakeholders in the health care sector.

A seminar on ‘medical law and ethics’ will also be organised before the launch of the diploma programme, the release said.

The university will organise a workshop on ‘women and law—reforms for effective legal protection’ in July.
