Petrol dealers warned

PATHANAMTHITTA: District Collector Raju Narayanaswamy has warned of stern action against petrol-diesel dealers who have been hoarding their stock following reports of an imminent fuel price hike. There were reports that certain petrol-fuel dealers keeping ‘no-stock’ boards at their outlets, hoarding the actual stock.

The District Collector said the administration has also initiated strong measures to check bootlegging of essential commodities in different parts of the district.

Mr. Narayanaswamy has directed the tahsildars as well as Civil Supplies Department officials to conduct inspections at all fuel outlets in the district and verify the stock.

The Collector himself had conducted inspection at two petrol-diesel outlets in Pathanamthitta town and at nearby Omalloor on Saturday afternoon and unearthed a concealed stock of 6,750 litres of petrol.
