Order to lift waste from river

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: R. Bhaskaran, Ombudsman for Travancore and Cochin Devaswom Boards, on Tuesday, directed officials of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board and the Travancore Devaswom Board to take immediate measures to remove waste dumped in the Karamana river near the Sree Parasurama temple at Thiruvallam.

Mr. Bhaskaran, who visited the temple, spoke to local people and people’s representatives from the area.

He said he would discuss the issue of pollution with officials of the Harbour Engineering Department and the Pollution Control Board.
